I created this piece in the month of March, which is Brain Injury Awareness month, something I honestly never gave much thought to. That is, until several years ago when my family was faced with the reality of what a severe traumatic brain injury is when my brother fell from a two-story balcony and miraculously survived.
Much like bamboo, he remains strong and able to overcome obstacles. He is still capable of so much, and has weathered the storms.
His strength, ability to move forward despite his challenges, his flexibility, and ways of rebuilding himself and his life in a new way is admirable.

This piece is the first of my Brain Injury Awareness collection for March’s Painting with a Purpose initiative.

100% of the proceeds from this month’s PWAP will be donated to Helmets of Love to provide helmets to youth in need. Alternatively, buyer may choose a related organization to support for brain injury awareness.

Handmade:
Due to the nature of handmade items, there may be minor imperfections such as thinner, more translucent paint on the canvas edges. The back of the canvas will show the paint drips/fingerprints from handling to keep the authenticity of handmade works and truly embrace [say yes to] the mess. Rest assured that every product is carefully and lovingly created, and I will only sell pieces that I am completely satisfied with after thorough scrutiny. ?
